The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.

A man has joy in the apt reply of his mouth, and a timely word spoken, how good it is!

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, but the words of the pure are pleasant.

These are the words of Qoheleth, the Teacher, a son of David and king in Jerusalem.

I, Qoheleth, have been king over Israel in Jerusalem.

Truly, truly I say to you, We speak of what We know and bear witness of what We have seen, but you do not receive Our testimony.

because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you have already heard in the word of the truth of the gospel,

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst.
