If the angry spirit of the ruler rises against you, do not leave your position, for calmness pacifies great offenses.

Do not be hasty to leave his presence. Do not take a stand in an unpleasant matter, for he does whatever pleases him.

With patience is a prince persuaded, and a gentle tongue will break a bone.

An angry man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger pacifies a quarrel.
