I prayed therefore to the Lord, and said, “O Lord God, do not destroy Your people, Your inheritance, which You have redeemed through Your greatness, which You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

And who is like Your people, like Israel—a single nation in the land, whom God went to redeem as a people for Himself, making a name for Himself by doing great and awesome things for Your land, before Your people whom You redeemed for Yourself from Egypt, a nation and its gods.

For they are Your people and Your inheritance whom You brought forth out of Egypt from the midst of the furnace of iron.

For You did call them out from among all the people of the earth to be Your inheritance, as You spoke by the hand of Moses Your servant when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.”

“Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power and by Your strong hand.

Therefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses, His chosen one, stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath from destroying them.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

Save Your people and bless Your inheritance; shepherd them and bear them up forever.

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For in You my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of Your wings will I take refuge, until these calamities pass by.

You have with Your arm redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph.   Selah

They remembered that God was their rock, and the Most High God their Redeemer.

Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name. They called upon the Lord, and He answered them.

“In Your mercy You have led the people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them by Your strength to Your holy dwelling.

Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You, and that I may find favor in Your sight. Consider too that this nation is Your people.”

He said, “If now I have found favor in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, for we are a stiff-necked people. Pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done it. Shout joyfully, you lower parts of the earth; break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it. For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, and glorified Himself in Israel.

We have become as those over whom You have never ruled, as those who were not called by Your name.

Do not abhor us. For Your name’s sake, do not disgrace Your glorious throne. Remember and do not break Your covenant with us.

Then the Lord said to me: Even though Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, yet My heart would not be with this people. Cast them out of My sight and let them go!

Look, O  Lord, and consider! To whom have You done this? Should the women eat their offspring, the children who were born healthy? Should the priest and the prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord?

For I have brought you up from the land of Egypt, and from the house of slaves I have redeemed you; and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

That prophet or that dreamer of dreams must be put to death because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to entice you away from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you must put the evil away from your midst.

You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you. Therefore, I command this to you today.

Be merciful, O  Lord, to Your people Israel, whom You have redeemed, and lay not innocent blood in the midst of Your people Israel.” And the blood guilt will be forgiven them.

For the Lord’s portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance.

But it is because the Lord loved you and because He kept the oath which He swore to your fathers. The Lord brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.

Then the Lord said to me, “Arise, go down from here quickly, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They are quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made a molded image for themselves.”

Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Do not look at the stubbornness of this people or at their wickedness or their sin.

Yet they are Your people, Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your mighty power and by Your outstretched arm.”

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering unto the Lord. And Samuel cried to the Lord for Israel and the Lord heard him.
