But it is because the Lord loved you and because He kept the oath which He swore to your fathers. The Lord brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.

“Therefore say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honorable, and I have loved you; therefore, I will give men for you, and people for your life.

In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His mercy He redeemed them; and He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

The Lord has appeared to him from afar, saying: Indeed, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake which you have profaned among the nations where you went.

For I have brought you up from the land of Egypt, and from the house of slaves I have redeemed you; and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

You will give faithfulness to Jacob and benevolence to Abraham, which You swore to our fathers from the days of old.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One, who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

I have loved you, says the Lord. But you say, “How have You loved us?” Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? says the Lord. Yet I have loved Jacob;

Even so, Father, for it seemed good in Your sight.

as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sake, but as regarding the election, they are beloved for the sake of the patriarchs.

See, I have set the land before you. Go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them.”

The Lord delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, even you above all people, as it is today.

You are not ever to seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days.

Surely, He loved the people; all His holy ones are in Your hand, and they sit down at Your feet; everyone receives Your words.

But the Lord has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, from Egypt, to be to Him a people of inheritance, as you are today.

Or has God ever tried to take for Himself a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

Because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them and personally brought you out of Egypt with His mighty power

I am the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

We love Him because He first loved us.

As befits His great name, the Lord will not abandon His people. For it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.
