Deuteronomy 4:1

Now therefore, listen, O Israel, to the statutes and to the judgments which I am teaching you to do, so that you may live; and go in and possess the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you.

You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently.

And you shall teach them the statutes and laws and shall show them the way in which they must walk and the work that they must do.

Then the Lord said to me: Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: saying, Hear the words of this covenant, and do them.

that they may walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and do them. And they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

I gave them My statutes and showed them My judgments, which if a man does them, he shall live.

Yet the children rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes, nor did they keep My judgments to do them, which if a man does them, he shall live. They polluted My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury upon them to accomplish My anger against them in the wilderness.

I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

David My servant shall be king over them. And they all shall have one shepherd. They shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes and do them.

You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does them, then he shall live by them: I am the Lord.

You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed, nor shall your garment be mixed from two types of fabric.

Therefore you shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments and do them: I am the Lord.

You shall keep My statutes, and do them; I am the Lord who sanctifies you.

Therefore you shall keep My commandments and do them: I am the Lord.

teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

They were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly.

You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which is based on the law: “The man who does those things shall live by them.”

In the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, Moses spoke to the Israelites, according to all that the Lord had commanded him to give to them.

See, I have set the land before you. Go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them.”

You must love the Lord your God and keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments always.

You must be careful to do all the statutes and judgments which I am setting before you today.

If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

You must follow that which is altogether just, so that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

What I am commanding you today is to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, so that you may live and multiply. Then the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

Therefore, you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you this day, so that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and so that you may prolong your days in the land, which the Lord your God gives you, forever.

These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances which Moses spoke to the Israelites, after they came out of Egypt,

And what nation is there so great that has statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I am setting before you today?

Then Moses called all Israel and said to them: Hear, O Israel, the statutes and ordinances which I am speaking in your hearing today, so that you may learn them, and keep, and do them.

You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.

Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the ordinances which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, so that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess,

The Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us, as He has to this day.

Therefore keep the commandments and the statutes and the judgments which I command you today, by doing them.

You must carefully keep all the commandments that I am commanding you today, so that you may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers.

Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, and His judgments, and His statutes, which I am commanding you today.

Hear, O Israel! You are to cross over the Jordan today, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than you, great cities fortified up to heaven,

So Joshua said to the Israelites, “Draw near and hear the words of the Lord your God.”
