You may charge interest to a foreigner, but to your brother you may not lend with interest so that the Lord your God may bless you in all to which you set your hand in the land which you are entering to possess.

So I contemplated about this for myself and, as a result, I rebuked the nobles and officials and said to them, “Based on the claim of each against his brother, you are exacting usury.” Then I convened a great assembly against them,

he who does not put his money out to usury, nor takes a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be moved.

And My anger will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives will become widows, and your children fatherless.

If you lend money to any of My people who is poor among you, do not be to him a usurer, and do not lay upon him usury.

He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay what he has given.

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;

It shall be: as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.

if he has not lent at interest, nor has taken any increase, but has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true justice between man and man;

Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, so that your brother may live with you.

and you will be blessed, for they cannot repay you. You shall be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

You must not eat of anything that dies of itself, but you may give it to the foreigner that is in your gates, so that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner, for you are a holy people to the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

You must surely give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because in this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to do.

You may collect it from a foreigner, but that which your brother has that is yours your hand shall release.

The Lord will open up to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow.
