Then the priests, the sons of Levi, must come near, for the Lord your God has chosen them to minister to Him, and to bless in the name of the Lord, and by their word every controversy and every assault will be settled.

The sons of Amram were Aaron and Moses, but Aaron was set apart to consecrate the most holy things, he and his sons forever, to offer sacrifices before the Lord, to minister to Him, and to bless in His name forever.

Whenever a case comes before you from your brothers who live in their cities, concerning bloodshed or offenses against law or commandment, against statutes or judgments, you shall warn them, lest they trespass against the Lord and wrath come upon you and your brothers. Do this, and you will not trespass.

Then he said to me, “The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the courtyard, are the holy chambers where the priests who approach the Lord shall eat the most holy offerings. There they shall lay the most holy offerings—the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering—for the place is holy.

In controversy they shall stand in judgment. And they shall judge it according to My judgments. And they shall keep My laws and My statutes in all My assemblies. And they shall make holy My Sabbaths.

Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and peace offerings.

For a priest’s lips should preserve knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of Hosts.

At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister to Him, and to bless in His name, to this day.

For the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons forever.

then both the men between whom the controversy is must stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, who are in office those days.

and the elders of that city must bring down the heifer to a valley with flowing water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.
