Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying, “The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,” and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to the Lord against you, and it become sin in you.

You must give him his wages on that very day before the sun sets, for he is poor, and sets his heart on it, lest he cry against you to the Lord, and it be a sin to you.

Show hospitality to one another without complaining.

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, it is sin.

Do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “He yearns jealously for the spirit that lives in us” ?

The devising of folly is sin, and the mocker is an abomination to men.

He who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he also will cry out, but will not be heard.

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the springs of life.

He who avenges deaths remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.

At the end of every seven years you shall grant a relinquishing of debts.

“Because the poor are plundered, because the needy sigh, now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will place him in the safety for which he yearns.”

I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.

You shall not afflict any widow or orphan.

He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who has mercy on the poor.

“At the end of seven years, each of you shall set free his Hebrew brother who has been sold to you; and when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you.” But your fathers did not obey Me or incline their ear.
