The king said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream, or its interpretation, trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered, “My lord, if only the dream was for those who hate you, and its interpretation for your enemies!

Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers, and I told the dream before them, but they did not make known to me its interpretation.

“Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.

Now the queen came into the banquet house because of the words of the king and his nobles. And the queen spoke and said, “O king, live forever. Do not let your thoughts trouble you, or let your countenance be changed.

Then all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king its interpretation.

Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever!

Then these presidents and officials assembled together to the king, and said to him: “King Darius, live forever!

All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the officials, the counselors, and the captains have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, save of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.

The crowds that went before Him and that followed Him cried out: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”

Then Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see him whom the Lord has chosen? Truly there is none like him among all the people.” And all the people shouted and said, “Long live the king.”
