Now I urge you, brothers, to closely watch those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the teaching which you have learned, and avoid them.

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed, lest he fall.

But take heed, lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumbling block to those who are weak.

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

and progressed in Judaism above many of my equals in my own heritage, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

So when we were children, we were in bondage to the elements of the world.

But now, after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how do you turn again to the weak and worthless elemental forces to which you desire again to be in bondage?

But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you are not consumed by one another.

in which you formerly walked according to the age of this world and according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

But you did not learn about Christ in this manner,

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.

then beware lest you forget the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Watch out for dogs, watch out for evil workers, watch out for those who practice mutilation.

Do not let anyone cheat you of your reward by delighting in false humility and the worship of angels, dwelling on those things which he has not seen, vainly arrogant due to his unspiritual mind,

Therefore, if you died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you subject yourself to legalistic rules?

These all are to perish with use and are aligned with the commandments and teachings of men.

These things have indeed a show of wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility and neglecting of the body, but are worthless against the indulgence of the flesh.

O Timothy, guard that which is committed to your trust. Avoid profane babblings and opposing views from so-called knowledge.

But evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Do not be carried away with diverse and strange teachings. It is a good thing that the heart be strengthened with grace, not with foods, which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.

Be attentive, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, and you depart from the living God.

For you know that you were not redeemed from your vain way of life inherited from your fathers with perishable things, like silver or gold,

You therefore, beloved, since you know these things beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own firm footing, being led away by the deception of the wicked.

Watch yourselves, so that we do not lose those things for which we have worked, but that we receive a full reward.
