You shall have honest balances, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

And I asked, “What is it?” He said, “This is the ephah basket going forth. This represents their iniquity throughout all the land.”

And he said, “This is wickedness.” And he threw her back into the basket and then thrust back the lead stone over its opening.

You also say, “What a weariness it is,” and you snort at it, says the Lord of Hosts. You bring in what is stolen, the lame, or the sick; thus you bring an offering! Should I accept this from your hand? says the Lord.

Also in the day of your gladness, and at your appointed days, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings that they may be a memorial for you before your God. I am the Lord your God.

Therefore let no one judge you regarding food, or drink, or in respect of a holy day or new moon or sabbath days.

David said to Jonathan, “Behold, tomorrow is the New Moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king to eat. But let me go that I may hide myself in the field until the evening of the third day.
