You shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of wheat flour, baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to the Lord.

I hate, I despise your festivals, and I am not pleased by your solemn assemblies.

Though you offer Me burnt offerings or your grain offerings, I will not accept them, nor will I regard the offerings of your fattened animals.

In vain they do worship Me, teaching as instructions from the precepts of men.’ ”

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You tithe mint and dill and cumin, but have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done without leaving the others undone.

“Therefore, when you do your charitable deeds, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not proper.
