Saul, still breathing out threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,
Do not deliver me to the will of my enemies; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.
And they threw him out of the city and stoned him. The witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
But Saul ravaged the church, entering house by house and dragging out both men and women and committing them to prison.
For I am the least of the apostles and am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it,
concerning zeal, persecuting the church; and concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
I was previously a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and an insolent man. But I was shown mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
