Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

They sent their disciples to Him with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God truthfully, and are swayed by no one. For You do not regard the person of men.

Likewise the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked Him, saying,

One day, as He taught the people in the temple and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes with the elders came up to Him,

He went and discussed with the chief priests and captains how he might betray Him to them.

Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My words, they will keep yours also.

So Judas, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.

So they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes, and came upon him and seized him and led him to the Sanhedrin,

So the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples grew rapidly in Jerusalem, and a great number of the priests were obedient to the faith.
