Acts 23:9

There was a great outcry. The scribes that were from the sect of Pharisees stood up and argued, “We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.”

I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?’

The crowd that stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”

When they had gone aside, they said to one another, “This man is doing nothing deserving death or imprisonment.”

I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death. But when he himself appealed to Caesar, I decided to send him.

I found him being accused of controversial matters about their law, but charged with nothing worthy of death or imprisonment.

When the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”

When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

For there stood by me this night the angel of God to whom I belong and whom I serve,

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit. But the Pharisees acknowledge them all.

If then God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to be able to hinder God?”

But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them, lest perhaps you be found even fighting against God.”

He said to them a third time, “Why, what evil has He done? I have found in Him no cause worthy of death. I will therefore chastise Him and release Him.”

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people, “I find no fault in this Man.”

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against His disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

And he said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have rewarded me with good, while I have rewarded you with evil.

He said to them, “The Lord is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand.” And they answered, “He is witness.”

Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets, “This man is not worthy of death, for he has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.”

“As I journeyed and came near Damascus, about noon suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me.
