Moses was very angry and said to the Lord, “Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I hurt one of them.”

If others partake of this right over you, should not we instead? Nevertheless, we have not used this right, but suffer all things, lest we might hinder the gospel of Christ.

But I have used none of these rights, nor have I written these things that it should be so done to me. For it would be better for me to die than allow anyone to make my boasting void.

What is my reward then? Truly that when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, so that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

Do we have no right to eat and to drink?

Did I commit a sin in abasing myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you the gospel of God free of charge?

Furthermore, when I was present with you and was lacking, I was a burden to no one. For the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I lacked. In all things I have kept myself from being burdensome to you, and so will I keep myself.

Accept us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, and we have defrauded no one.

For neither at any time did we come with flattering words, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed. God is our witness.

Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, take care of them, not by constraint, but willingly, not for dishonest gain, but eagerly.

For His name’s sake they went out, receiving no help from the Gentiles.
