The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue.

For with stammering lips and foreign tongue He will speak to this people,

As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says the Lord: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your descendants, nor out of the mouth of your descendants’ descendants, says the Lord, from this time forth and forever.

But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.

But when they deliver you up, take no thought of how or what you will speak. For it will be given you at that time what you will speak.

These signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, stared at him and said,

God, who knows the heart, approved of them, giving them the Holy Spirit just as He did to us,

When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own languages the mighty works of God.”

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they shall fail; if there are tongues, they shall cease; and if there is knowledge, it shall vanish.

I thank my God that I speak in tongues more than you all.

I desire that you all speak in tongues, but even more that you prophesy. For greater is he who prophesies than he who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edification.

and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Do not be drunk with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit.

Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds of prayer and supplication. To that end be alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves, but us, concerning the things which are now announced to you, by those who have preached the gospel to you, through the Holy Spirit sent from heaven —things into which angels desire to look.

For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

So Eli said to her, “How long will you be drunk? Put away your wine from you.”

When they came to Gibeah, behold, a group of prophets met him. And the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
