When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul was pressed by the Spirit and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

But if I say, “I will not make mention of Him nor speak anymore in His name,” then His word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I was weary of forbearing it, and I could not endure it.

Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord; I am weary with holding in. I will pour it out upon the children in the street and upon the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.

So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how pressed I am until it is accomplished!

He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means the Christ).

Then the Jews surrounded Him, saying, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.

Then it pleased the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men from among them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas called Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers.

Then he came to Derbe and then to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who believed, but his father was a Greek.

and from there to Philippi, which is the main city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony. We stayed in this city several days.

During the night a vision appeared to Paul: A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I preach to you, is the Christ.”

For he vehemently refuted the Jews publicly, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ.

“Therefore, let all the house of Israel assuredly know that God has made this Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me.

But none of these things deter me. Nor do I count my life of value to myself, so that I may joyfully finish my course and the ministry which I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

For we cannot help but declare what we have seen and heard.”

Yet Saul increased all the more with power and confounded the Jews living in Damascus, proving that this One is the Christ.

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by Silas, Timothy, and me, was not “Yes” and “No.” In Him it was “Yes.”

Furthermore, when I was present with you and was lacking, I was a burden to no one. For the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I lacked. In all things I have kept myself from being burdensome to you, and so will I keep myself.

For the love of Christ constrains us, because we thus judge: that if one died for all, then all have died.

I am in a difficult position between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better.

We sent Timothy, who is our brother and minister of God and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish and comfort you with regard to your faith,

But just now Timothy has come from you to us and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good memories of us, desiring greatly to see us, as we also desire to see you.

With the help of Silas, whom I consider to be a faithful brother to you, I have written briefly, exhorting you and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
