For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to put on you no greater burden than these necessary things:

For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”

They fasten heavy loads that are hard to carry and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves will not move them with their finger.

But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own authority. But He will speak whatever He hears, and He will tell you things that are to come.

“Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who are turning to God,

it seemed good to us, being assembled in unity, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

God, who knows the heart, approved of them, giving them the Holy Spirit just as He did to us,

As they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to observe, that were set forth by the apostles and elders at Jerusalem.

We are His witnesses to these words, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is a command of the Lord.

Now concerning those not having married, I have no command from the Lord. Yet I will give my judgment as one who has obtained mercy from the Lord to be faithful.

But in my judgment she is happier if she so remains as she is. And I think that I have the Spirit of God.

Therefore he that despises does not despise man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves, but us, concerning the things which are now announced to you, by those who have preached the gospel to you, through the Holy Spirit sent from heaven —things into which angels desire to look.

“Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this teaching, who have not known what some call the ‘depths of Satan,’ I will put on you no other burden.
