In Lystra there sat a man, crippled in his feet, who had never walked and was lame from birth.

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred. But while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch,

they learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding region.

Then he came to Derbe and then to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who believed, but his father was a Greek.

A man lame from birth was being carried, whom people placed daily at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to ask alms from those who entered the temple.

If we today are being examined concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, how this man has been healed,

persecutions, and afflictions, which came to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—what persecutions I endured! But the Lord delivered me out of them all.
