And He who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

who shall not receive a hundred times as much now in this age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, with persecution, and in the age to come, eternal life.

And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire,

Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter His glory?”

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.

Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My words, they will keep yours also.

“I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have distress. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.”

Jesus answered, “Truly, truly I say to you, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and exhorted them all to remain with the Lord with a loyal heart.

When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a considerable crowd. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Then every disciple, according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea.

When the congregation was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.

But as the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. The next day he departed with Barnabas for Derbe.

And there they stayed a long time with the disciples.

Judas and Silas, being prophets themselves, exhorted the brothers with many words and strengthened them.

And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

After spending some time there, he departed and passed through the entire region of Galatia and Phrygia in sequence, strengthening all the disciples.

So the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples grew rapidly in Jerusalem, and a great number of the priests were obedient to the faith.

For I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.”

and if children, then heirs: heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified with Him.

He will strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For to you it was granted on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

if you continue in the faith, established and firm, and are not removed from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

To this end may He establish your hearts to be blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

So do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, His prisoner. But share in the sufferings of the gospel by the power of God,

Yes, and all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

For to this you were called, because Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

But after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory through Christ Jesus, will restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.

Resist him firmly in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly provided for you.

Beloved, while I diligently tried to write to you of the salvation we have in common, I found it necessary to write and appeal to you to contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.

I, John, both your brother and companion in the persecution and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the isle that is called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tried, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

I said to him, “Sir, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of great persecution and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
