When he had seized him, he put him in prison and handed him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending to bring him before the people after the Passover.

He said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You to prison and to death.”

Many are the plans in the heart of a man, but it is the counsel of the Lord that will stand.

“But before all these things, they will seize you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.

to do what Your hand and Your counsel had foreordained to be done.

The letters were sent by mounted couriers into all the king’s provinces to cause the destruction, slaughter, and annihilation of all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and even to plunder their possessions.

But Saul ravaged the church, entering house by house and dragging out both men and women and committing them to prison.

They seized the apostles and put them in the common prison.

When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took His garments and divided them into four parts, a part for each soldier; and also His tunic. Now the tunic was seamless, woven from top to bottom.

Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it?

Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying:

Now the feasts of the Passover and of Unleavened Bread were two days away. And the chief priests and the scribes looked for a way to seize Him secretly and kill Him.

Seeing that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to arrest Peter also. This happened during the Days of Unleavened Bread.

So Peter was kept in prison. But the church prayed to God without ceasing for him.
