Motioning to them with his hand to be quiet, he described to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison. And he said, “Go, tell these things to James and to the brothers.” Then he departed and went to another place.

In those days Peter stood up among the disciples (the number of people together was about one hundred and twenty), and said,

But Peter continued knocking. And when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.

Now when day came, there was a great disturbance among the soldiers about what had become of Peter.

Then Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said: “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen.

After they had become silent, James answered, “Brothers, listen to me.

They went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia. When they had seen the brothers, they exhorted them and departed.

The Jews pushed Alexander to the front as the crowd prompted him. Alexander motioned with his hand, wishing to make his defense to the mob.

On the next day Paul went with us to James, and all the elders were present.

When he had given him permission, Paul stood on the stairs and motioned with his hand to the people. When there was great silence, he addressed them in the Aramaic language, saying,

From there, when the brothers heard of us, they traveled as far as the Forum of Appius and the Three Taverns to meet us. When Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage.

Then He was seen by James and then by all the apostles.

I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.

Before certain men came from James, he ate with the Gentiles. But when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

When James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, understood the grace that was given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
