Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe who is discipled for the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is master of the household who brings out of his treasure new and old things.”

With many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it.

The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his house servants, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth was a man attested to you by God with powerful works and wonders and signs, which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves know.

For I did not keep from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who are of the household of Aristobulus.

Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but yield yourselves to God, as those who are alive from the dead, and your bodies to God as instruments of righteousness.

Yet we speak wisdom among those who are mature, although not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

For it is not he who commends himself who is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.

who has made us able ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

But we have renounced the secret things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by expressing the truth and commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

So whether present or absent, we labor that we may be accepted by Him.

For am I now seeking the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying to please men? For if I were still trying to please men, I would not be the servant of Christ.

In Him you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and after believing in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

But as we were allowed by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not to please men, but God, who examines our hearts.

Now we exhort you, brothers, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, and be patient toward everyone.

If you remind the brothers of these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good teaching, which you have followed closely.

Let us labor therefore to enter that rest, lest anyone fall by the same pattern of unbelief.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he is tried, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Of His own will He brought us forth with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

Therefore, brothers, diligently make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.

And I will also be diligent to make sure that after my death you will always remember these things.

Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these things, be diligent that you may be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless.
