Diligently try to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, and so do Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers.

But we, brothers, being taken from you for a short time, in presence, not in heart, endeavored all the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.

We are writing these things to you so that our joy may be complete.

For he longed after you all and was filled with heaviness, because you heard that he was sick.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be strengthened.

Therefore watch, remembering that for three years night and day I did not cease to warn everyone with tears.

serving the Lord with all humility and with many tears and trials which befell me through the plots of the Jews.

Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

to preserve those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.

Those who sow in tears shall reap with joy.
