David took more concubines and wives in Jerusalem, after having come from Hebron, and they bore him more sons and daughters.
The wealthy man had a very large flock and herd,
Then David understood that the Lord had appointed him king over Israel, and that He had exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.
He had seven hundred wives who were princesses and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away.
Now these were the sons of David, who were born to him in Hebron: The firstborn was Amnon by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second, Daniel by Abigail the Carmelitess;
These were all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.
So Abijah grew strong and took fourteen wives and had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
He shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he acquire for himself excess silver and gold.
David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel. So both of them were his wives.
