The sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rekab and Baanah, went out and came to the house of Ish-bosheth in the heat of the day, as he was resting in his bed at midday.

From the time when Amaziah turned aside from the Lord, they plotted a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. Then they sent for him and put him to death in Lachish.

And his servants plotted against him, and they killed him in his palace.
