When Araunah looked and saw the king and his servants coming toward him, he went out and bowed low to the king with his face on the ground.

He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself toward the ground.

On the third day, behold, a man came from the camp of Saul with his clothes torn and dirt upon his head. As he approached David, he fell to the ground prostrate.

So David went up according to the word of Gad, as the Lord commanded.

Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David replied, “To purchase the threshing floor from you in order to build an altar to the Lord, so that the plague may be averted from the people.”

He bowed low and said, “What is your servant that you should be concerned for a dead dog like me?”

So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should acknowledge me, a foreigner?”
