There happened to be a worthless man there whose name was Sheba the son of Bichri, a Benjamite. He sounded the trumpet and said, “We have no share in David, nor do we have an inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tents, O Israel.”
And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with you, and you dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words or be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.
The best among them is like a brier, the most upright among them a bramble; the day of your watchmen, of your punishment, has come; now their confusion is at hand.
“Certain men, the sons of wickedness, are gone out from among you and have seduced the inhabitants of their city, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ ” which you have not known,
Now therefore know and consider what you will do, for evil is determined against our master and against all his household. He is such a worthless man that one cannot speak to him.”
