But he has slandered your servant to my lord the king. Still my lord the king is as the angel of God, so do what seems best to you.

“So, your servant thought, ‘May the word of my lord the king provide rest. For like the angel of God, my lord the king discerns good from evil. May the Lord your God be with you.’ ”

Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him will I destroy; whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart, him will I not endure.

he who does not slander with the tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor, and do not trust in any brother; for every brother supplants, and every neighbor walks about with slanders.

Achish replied to David, “I know that you are pleasing in my sight like an angel of God. However the lords of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us in battle.’
