The king said to Absalom, “No, my son, we must not all go or we will be a burden to you.” When he urged him, he refused to go, but gave him his blessing.

Then Absalom came to the king and said, “Behold, your servant has sheepshearers; will the king and his servants kindly go with your servant?”

Absalom said, “If not, allow my brother Amnon to go with us.” But the king replied to him, “Why should he go with you?”

Then Joab fell with his face to ground and bowed low and blessed the king. Joab said, “Today your servant knows that I have found favor in your eyes, my lord the king, since the king has granted the request of his servant.”

“Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.

But they urged Him, saying, “Stay with us. For it is nearly evening and the day is far spent.” So He went in to stay with them.

When she and her household were baptized, she entreated us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and remain there.” And she persuaded us.

Just then Boaz came from Bethlehem and said to the harvesters, “May the Lord be with you!” And they said to him, “May the Lord bless you.”
