Slothfulness casts a man into a deep sleep, and an idle soul will suffer hunger.

Examine yourselves, seeing whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you? —unless indeed you are disqualified.

how in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty overflowed toward the riches of their generous giving.

But as you abound in everything—in faith, in utterance, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love to us —see that you abound in this grace also.

And in their prayer for you, they long for you, because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all discernment,

Let this mind be in you all, which was also in Christ Jesus,

Yes, certainly, I count everything as loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have forfeited the loss of all things and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ,

that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing to all, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God,

rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, just as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all men, even as we do for you.

Finally, brothers, we urge and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, you should excel more and more.

We are bound to thank God always for you, brothers, as it is fitting, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you abounds toward each other.

Besides that, they learn to be idle, and not only idle, wandering around from house to house, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they ought not.

And let our people also learn to continue doing good works to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unproductive.

that the sharing of your faith may be most effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you from Christ Jesus.

so that you may not be lazy, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and excellence,

For if after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory, both now and forever. Amen.
