Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

But Sihon, king of Heshbon, would not let us pass by him, for the Lord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, so that He might deliver him into your hand as he is to this day.

The anger of the Lord burned against this land, bringing on it all the curses that are written in this book.

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire. He is a jealous God.
