In his days Pharaoh Necho, king of Egypt, went up against the king of Assyria to the Euphrates River. King Josiah went to meet him, but he killed him at Megiddo when he had seen him.
Baana the son of Ahilud in Taanach, Megiddo, and all Beth-shan that is by Zarethan beneath Jezreel, and from Beth-shan to Abel Meholah as far as the other side of Jokmeam;
But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.
Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the evil which I am about to bring upon this place.” Then they brought the king a report.

There is another vanity that takes place on earth: there are righteous people who are treated according to the deeds of the wicked, and there are wicked people who are treated according to the deeds of the righteous. I observed that this also is vanity.

Manasseh did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shan, Taanach, Dor, Ibleam, Megiddo, or their daughter villages, for the Canaanites were determined to live in that land.
