Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah and said to him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They came from a distant land, from Babylon.”
Hezekiah welcomed them and showed them all the treasure house, the silver, the gold, the spices, the fine oil, all the armory, and all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.
He said, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah said, “They have seen everything in my house. There is nothing in my storehouses that I did not show them.”
Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness. Let him rebuke me; it shall be an excellent oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. Yet my prayer is still against the deeds of the wicked.
the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them. All of them are desirable young men, captains and rulers, officers and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.
The Lord will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand,
