Elisha was watching and crying, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” And he did not see him again. Then he grabbed his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.

He picked up the robe of Elijah that fell from him, and he returned and stood on the bank of the Jordan.

But his servants approached and spoke to him, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more when he said to you, ‘Wash and be clean’?”

The king of Israel said to Elisha when he saw them, “My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?”

He will even deliver one who is not innocent; he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.”

By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.

Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in the hollow of His hands? Who has bound the waters in His cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name? And what is the name of His son? Surely you know!

Wisdom gives the wise person more strength than ten rulers who are in the city.

Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, saying,

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,

Perhaps the Lord your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, lift up a prayer for the remnant that is left.”

After the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.

When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

While He blessed them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

No one has ascended to heaven except He who descended from heaven, even the Son of Man who is in heaven.

When He had spoken these things, while they looked, He was taken up. And a cloud removed Him from their sight.

saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has given you all those who sail with you.’

Devout men carried Stephen to his burial and made great lamentation over him.

In this one we groan, earnestly desiring to be sheltered with our house which is from heaven.

For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we wish to be unclothed, but to be further clothed, so that what is mortal might be swallowed up by life.

Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.”

Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies watched them.

Micah said to him, “Live with me, and be a father and a priest for me. I will give you ten silver coins a year, a set of clothes, and food.” So the Levite went in.
