He trusted in the Lord God of Israel. Afterwards, there was no one like him among all the kings of Judah or among those who were before him.

Then the Rabshakeh said to them, “Speak to Hezekiah: “Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: What is the basis of your confidence?

“Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying: Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying: Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Now there had been no king like him before or after, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses.

And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing with You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power. Help us, O  Lord our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name we come against this multitude. O  Lord, You are our God. Let no man prevail against You.”

So they rose up early in the morning and went out to the Wilderness of Tekoa. And when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and those dwelling in Jerusalem. Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be supported. Believe His prophets, and you will succeed.”

Also, Jehoshaphat king of Judah was united with Ahaziah king of Israel, who acted wickedly.

Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, but I will defend my own ways before Him.

But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

O  Lord of Hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

But if you say to me, ‘We trust in the Lord our God,’ is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, ‘You shall worship before this altar’?

and said, “Remember now, O  Lord, I beseech You, how I have walked before You in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

He trusted in God. Let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’  ”

that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, should live for the praise of His glory.
