Then the king of Assyria sent the Tartan, the Rabsaris, and the Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great army against Jerusalem. So they went up and came to Jerusalem. When they went up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is on the highway of the Fuller’s Field.

Then the Rabshakeh said to them, “Speak to Hezekiah: “Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: What is the basis of your confidence?

But the Rabshakeh said to them, “Has my master sent me to speak these words to your master and to you, and not to the men sitting on the wall, who are about to eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?”

Thus says the king: ‘Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he is not able to deliver you from my hand.

And they proclaimed it also in a loud voice in the Judean language against the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall to frighten and terrify them in order to capture the city.

“Artaxerxes, king of kings, “To Ezra the priest, scribe of the law of the God of heaven: “Perfect peace, and so forth.

For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.

Speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, which has said, “My Nile is my own, and I myself have made it.”

Then I heard something like the sound like a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying: “Alleluia! For the Lord God Almighty reigns!
