Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, struck him at Ibleam, and killed him. Then Shallum reigned in his place.

The rest of the deeds of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem became king over Israel in Samaria for two years.
