But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion on them. He turned toward them because of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not yet destroy them or cast them from His presence.

The Lord said, “My Spirit will not always strive with man, for he is flesh; yet his days will be one hundred and twenty years.”

Yet give consideration to the prayer of Your servant and to his supplication, O  Lord my God; listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You today,

Then Hazael king of Aram died and Ben-hadad his son reigned in his place.

But Jehoahaz appeased the Lord, and the Lord listened to him. For He saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Aram oppressed them.

For the Lord saw the very bitter affliction of Israel. There was no one left, imprisoned or free, and no helper for Israel.

The Lord had not said that He would wipe out the name of Israel from under heaven, so He saved them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Joash.

Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from His presence. None remained except the tribe of Judah.

The Lord rejected all the seed of Israel, afflicted them, and gave them into the hand of plunderers until He had cast them out of His presence.

until the Lord removed Israel from His presence as He had said by all His servants the prophets. So Israel was exiled from their land to Assyria until this day.

Because of the anger of the Lord this happened in Jerusalem and Judah until He threw them out from His presence. But Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

He remembers His covenant forever, the word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,

the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac,

For their sake He remembered His covenant, and relented according to the greatness of His mercy.

Cast me not away from Your presence, and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.

But He, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them. He often restrained His anger, and did not stir up all His wrath;

But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abundant in mercy and truth.

Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”

It shall come to pass that after I have plucked them out, I will again have compassion on them, and will bring them back, every man to his inheritance, and every man to his land.

But though He causes grief, yet He will have compassion according to the abundance of His mercies.

then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

“Then He will say to those at the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

For the Lord will judge His people, and relent in regard to His servants, when He sees that their power is gone and there is no one left, whether restrained or free.

They shall be punished with eternal destruction, isolated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

They removed the foreign gods from among them and worshipped the Lord, and He could no longer endure the suffering of Israel.
