He said, “Do it a second time,” and they did it a second time. And he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it the third time.

So will you find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.

“They do all their works to be seen by men. They make their Scripture boxes broad and lengthen the tassels on their prayer shawls.

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

“Be sure that you do not do your righteous deeds before men to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

so that your righteous deeds may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Repay no one evil for evil. Commend what is honest in the sight of all men.

For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

For we are not as many are who peddle the word of God. Instead, being sent by God, we sincerely speak in Christ in the sight of God.

to prevent any man from blaming us in administering this abundant gift,

Furthermore, we have sent with them our brother whom we have frequently proved diligent in many things, but now is much more diligent, due to the great confidence which he has in you.

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.

Abstain from all appearances of evil.

Moreover he must have a good reputation among those who are outsiders, so that he does not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Therefore I desire that the younger women marry, bear children, manage the house, and give no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

Live your lives honorably among the Gentiles, so that though they speak against you as evildoers, they shall see your good works and thereby glorify God in the day of visitation.

So she lay at his feet until morning, but she arose before one could recognize another. Then he said, “It must not be known that a woman came to the threshing floor.”
