Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. But we are revealed to God, and I trust we are also revealed in your consciences.

As they traveled, the terror of God was on the cities that were around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.

Terrors will make him afraid on every side and will drive him to his feet.

For destruction from God is a terror to me, and because of His highness I cannot endure.

For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; my spirit drinks in their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.

How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed by terrors!

But You indeed are to be feared; who may stand in Your presence once You are angry?

Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath.

In that day Egypt shall become like women. And it shall be afraid and be in dread because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of Hosts which He is about to shake over it.

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has seized the hypocrites: “Who among us can live with the continual fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?”

Who can stand before His anger? Who will rise up before His burning wrath? His heat is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken up before Him.

Do not fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

“And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

But I will warn you whom you shall fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell. Yes, I say to you, fear Him.

“He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.’ ”

When the congregation was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.

saying, “This man is persuading men to worship God contrary to the law.”

He lectured in the synagogue every Sabbath and persuaded Jews and Greeks.

And you see and hear, not only at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, that this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that these things made by hands are not gods.

The king, before whom I also speak freely, knows about these things. For I am persuaded that none of this is hidden from him, for this was not done in a corner.

When they had arranged a day to be with him, many came to him at his residence. From morning until evening he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God to them, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

For we are not as many are who peddle the word of God. Instead, being sent by God, we sincerely speak in Christ in the sight of God.

So we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us. We implore you in Christ’s stead: Be reconciled to God.

As workers together with God, we ask you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

For am I now seeking the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying to please men? For if I were still trying to please men, I would not be the servant of Christ.

being submissive to one another in the fear of God.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

For our God is a consuming fire.

And others save with fear while pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment stained by the sinful nature.

Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
