So I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in hardships, in persecutions, and in distresses for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

But in all things we commend ourselves as servants of God: in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distress,

For when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, and we were troubled on every side. On the outside were conflicts; on the inside were fears.

I desire to be present with you now and to change my tone, for I am displeased with you.

David was greatly distressed, for the people talked of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in spirit, each over his sons and daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Then Saul said to his armor bearer, “Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through and abuse me.” But his armor bearer would not, for he was very afraid. Therefore Saul took his sword and fell upon it.
