Afterwards the Spirit took me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea to those of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you.
The following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Take courage, Paul. For as you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify at Rome.”
Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I speak to you by revelation or knowledge or prophesying or teaching?
I have become a fool in boasting. You have compelled me, for I ought to have been commended by you, for I am in no way inferior to the leading apostles, though I am nothing.
And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of revelations, a thorn was given me in the body, a messenger of Satan, to torment me, lest I be exalted above measure.
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
I went up in response to a revelation and communicated to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles. But privately I communicated to those who were of reputation, in case I might be running, or had run, in vain.
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true —His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
