2 Chronicles 19:7

So now may the fear of the Lord be on you. Consider and act well, because there is no injustice, partiality, or taking bribes with the Lord our God.”

Both hands are upon evil, to do it well. The prince and the judge request the bribe, the powerful asserts the craving of his very soul— they intertwine together.

He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, he who rejects unjust gain and shakes his hands from holding bribes, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil:

The former governors preceding me had extracted a heavy burden on the people, because they took from them food and wine, besides forty shekels of silver. Moreover, even their servants domineered over the people. But I myself never did so, because of the fear of God.

And if you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your sojourning.

Joseph said to them the third day, “Do this and live, for I fear God.

The God of Israel said, the rock of Israel spoke to me: He who rules over man justly, who rules in the fear of God,

Does God pervert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice?

He took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces. And he sent them throughout all the territory of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, “Whoever does not come out after Saul and after Samuel, so will it be done to his oxen.” And the fear of the Lord fell on the people, and they came out as one man.

He will surely rebuke you, if you secretly show partiality.
