but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the Lord.

Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders and the judgments He has uttered,

You know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints. So I ask you, brothers,

knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us through Jesus and will present us with you.

This they did, not as we expected. First, they gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of hands by the elders.

Take heed to yourself and to the teaching. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

If you remind the brothers of these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good teaching, which you have followed closely.

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth. Meditate on it day and night so that you may act carefully according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way successful, and you will be wise.
