He had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice and handsome man, and there was not a better looking man among the Israelites. From his shoulders and up he was taller than any of the people.
Then he brought near the tribe of Benjamin by its families. And the family of Matri was chosen. Then Saul the son of Kish was taken. But when they sought him, he could not be found.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him, for the Lord sees not as men see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
Now the donkeys of Kish, the father of Saul, were lost. And Kish said to his son Saul, “Take now one of the servants with you, and arise, go find the donkeys.”
