David inquired at the Lord, saying, “Should I pursue after this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue them, for you will surely overtake them and will surely recover all.”

So David asked the Lord, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You give them into my hand?” The Lord said to David, “Go up, because I will certainly give them into your hand.”

When David inquired of the Lord, He said, “You shall not go up. Circle around behind them and come against them opposite the trees.

Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”

Saul asked of God, “Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will You deliver them into the hand of Israel?” But He did not answer him that day.

Therefore David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” And the Lord said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines, and rescue Keilah.”

Then David again inquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah because I am giving the Philistines into your hand.”

Saul inquired of the Lord, but the Lord did not answer him by dreams, or by lots, or by prophets.

So David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and David rescued his two wives.

Now there was nothing missing, from the smallest thing to the greatest, neither sons, nor daughters, or plunder, or anything which they had taken. David brought back all of it.
