1 Samuel 3:18

Samuel told him everything, and did not hide from him a thing. And he said, “It is the Lord; let Him do what is good in His eyes.”

Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be treated like the wicked; far be it from You. Should not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

But if He should say now, ‘Behold, I take no delight in you,’ here I am, let Him do to me what seems good to Him.”

Take courage, and let us prove worthy of our people and the cities of our God. May the Lord do what seems right to Him.”

He said to her, “You talk like one of the foolish women talks. Will we indeed accept the good from God but not accept the adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

I was silent; I did not open my mouth, because it was You who did it.

Then the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.

Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good.” For he said, “For there shall be peace and truth in my days.”

Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,

Then Zedekiah the king sent and had Jeremiah the prophet brought to him at the third entrance that is in the house of the Lord. And the king said to Jeremiah, “I will ask you something; hide nothing from me.”

Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, “Behold, I have heard you. I will pray to the Lord your God according to your words. And it shall come to pass, that whatever the Lord will answer you, I will declare it to you. I will keep nothing back from you.”

Why should a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘I will be sanctified by those who come near Me; and before all the people I will be glorified.’ ” And Aaron held his peace.

Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

Then the Israelites said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do to us whatever seems good in Your sight. Please, just deliver us today.”
