Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he escaped from Saul’s presence. He struck the spear into the wall. But David fled and escaped that night.

So Saul cast a spear at him to strike him. Therefore Jonathan knew that his father was determined to kill David.

And Saul threw the spear. For he said, “I will pin David to the wall.” But David avoided him two times.

No wisdom or understanding or counsel can stand against the Lord.

Again they tried to seize Him, but He escaped from their hands.

But passing through the midst of them, He went His way.

But when they persecute you in this city, escape into another. For truly I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

So Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan and Saul vowed, “As the Lord lives, he will not be killed.”

quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in fighting, and turned the armies of foreign enemies to flight.

for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.

The next day an evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he raved in his house. David was playing the lyre, as at other times. Now there was a spear in Saul’s hand.

The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him.
